Amazon Web Services (AWS), in collaboration with Human Initiative (HI), organized a free health education and check-up event in Mulyasari Village, Karawang, West Java, on Friday (May 23). Held from 08.00 to 12.00 local time, the event reached 100 residents who received free basic health services.
The Free Health Check-up in Karawang included blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, and uric acid checks. The activity was supported by professional medical personnel such as Dr. Siti Shilviayana, Dr. Siti Nurhikmah, and Dr. Alda Rizqia, who worked together with the village midwife and local health cadres.
Dental Health Education and Medical Equipment Support
The program not only targeted adults but also gave special attention to children through the “Dental Health Education” session for 200 students of SDN 01 Mulyasari. Drg. Oki from the local health center and the team from Drg. Maesa introduced the importance of oral hygiene and taught the correct way to brush teeth using interactive and enjoyable methods.
“It was really fun to learn. Now I know the proper way to brush my teeth so I won’t get toothaches anymore,” shared one enthusiastic student who took part in the dental health session.
Beyond free health check-ups, AWS and HI also provided medical equipment and medicines to the Mulyasari Sub-health Center (Pustu). This support aims to strengthen the village’s basic healthcare services that are directly accessible to the community.
“We hope this support helps strengthen village health services and brings long-term benefits to the community,” said a Human Initiative staff member.
AWS and HI Collaboration
The assistance and free health check-up program reflect a long-term commitment between AWS and Human Initiative to improve the quality of life in communities. The involvement of various stakeholders proves that cross-sector collaboration can bring about positive change.
