Bag of Happiness: Creating Space for Children’s Confidence Through New Clothing

Every child deserves to feel worthy and respected. Proper clothing plays an important role in building confidence. When a child wears clean and appropriate clothes, they walk with greater ease. They interact with others without hesitation and begin to see themselves in a more positive way.

However, many orphans, children from underprivileged families, and children affected by disasters and humanitarian crises still struggle to meet basic clothing needs. These limitations often affect their confidence. For this reason, addressing basic needs becomes an important step in safeguarding children’s dignity and supporting their growth.

In response to this need, Human Initiative runs the Bag of Happiness New Clothing Package program. Through this initiative, Human Initiative distributes new clothing packages to children who are rights holders of the program. With this support, children can grow with stronger confidence and feel equal among their peers.

Each package is prepared according to the needs of the beneficiaries. For underprivileged families, the package includes Muslim clothing such as a modest dress and hijab or a koko shirt, along with trousers and a cap. Children affected by disasters receive packages with similar items. Meanwhile, for children in countries facing humanitarian crises, the package also includes shoes so that their clothing needs can be fulfilled more completely.

Across different regions, Human Initiative teams work with partners and local volunteers to distribute assistance in a structured manner. They ensure that the process runs in an orderly and targeted way so that each package represents thoughtful and dignified support.
