Thousands of Grab Driver Partners Gradually Receive Grocery Packages from the Human Initiative, Grab and BenihBaik

The enactment of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Jakarta has made online motorbike taxi drivers prohibited from carrying passengers. Nevertheless the online motorbike taxi drivers are still allowed to transport goods to deliver food to customers.

In response to this, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi said that her party continued to comply with the PSBB and continued to support Grab partners in meeting their daily needs through the provision of nine staples (basic needs) as a result of collaboration for the 9,900 affected partners in Corona.

“We adhere to the Large Scale Social Restrictions that have been decided by the government of the Republic of Indonesia and continue to pay attention to the safety of our Driver Partners. This step of distributing groceries is the beginning of our efforts to unite, fight with our Driver Partners. All of these pandemic trials have strengthened our mission to continue to be on their side, ensuring that our front lines continue to receive viability and survival, “Neneng said in a written statement, Friday (10/4/2020).

Previously, the collaborative fundraising of Grab Indonesia, Human Initiative and Sido Muncul under the Benihbaik.com platform had been realized in the form of staple food packages to be distributed to driver partners in Jakarta.

A total of 5,500 GrabCar driver partners and 4,500 GrabBike drivers in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, Semarang, Yogya and Makassar will receive these staple food packages.

Food packages in the form of 1 kg of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, 600 ml of soy sauce, 2 canned foods of 155 gram and 3 packets of 45 gram seasoned flour will be very meaningful for the daily meals of a father, mother and their children for the next month.

In the first phase, a total of 200 GrabBike and GrabCar Driver Partners received their food packages at the GrabBike Lounge-Kebayoran Lama and the Cilandak Grab Excellence Center. Sido Muncul as Grab Indonesia’s business partner has also provided funding assistance in the form of Tolak Angin herb medicine worth 100 million Rupiah and 666 packages of basic food items containing instant noodles, Tolak Angin herb medicine, instant cereals, biscuits, rice, soy sauce, oil and sachets.

Grab and other large Indonesian companies will continue to unite to gather resources in providing full support for Driver Partners who have been the most important part of their business in particular, and the Indonesian economy in general in the COVID-19 pandemic.
