Connecting Market Access, Sebar Qurban Opens Opportunities for Local Farmers

Many people see qurban simply as a form of worship during Eid al Adha. Behind it, however, lies a long process that often goes unseen. Farmers care for livestock over many months, manage feed, monitor health conditions, and maintain the animals until they are ready to be distributed to pequrban.

Nationally, the demand for qurban livestock is significant. Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia shows that national qurban livestock demand reaches more than 2 million animals every year. In 2025, demand was projected to reach around 2.07 million animals, while availability exceeded 3.2 million. Meanwhile, qurban slaughter activities increased to around 2.26 million animals, rising by approximately 12% compared to the previous year.

This growing demand creates opportunities for farmers to sell livestock at better prices. Qurban activities also stimulate other sectors such as distribution, feed supply, labor, and small businesses around livestock production areas. This chain contributes to local economic circulation.

How Qurban Supports Local Economies

Qurban encourages farmers to maintain livestock quality consistently. They manage feed more carefully, maintain cleaner barns, and monitor animal health every day. Over time, these practices help strengthen livestock farming standards.

However, some farmers still face limited market access. Many depend on intermediaries and encounter distribution challenges. As a result, opportunities are not always distributed evenly even though demand continues to increase.

Through the Sebar Qurban program, Human Initiative connects pequrban with local farmers in various regions. This initiative expands market access for farmers while ensuring qurban distribution follows sharia principles and reaches communities in need.

This effort helps strengthen farmers’ positions within the economic chain while expanding the distribution of benefits. Qurban does not end at the slaughtering process, but also contributes to driving economic activity across different regions.

Togetherness makes every step feel lighter. When many parties move together, the benefits can reach further. Let us collaborate through Sebar Qurban at solusipeduli.org so its impact can reach more farmers and communities in need.
