“Disasters Do Not Wait, Preparedness Comes First” — Human Initiative Holds Disaster Preparedness Assembly to Commemorate DRR Month 2025

Human Initiative held a Disaster Preparedness Assembly on Thursday, 30 October 2025, at the Human Initiative Headquarter in Depok. The event, which began at 08.00 a.m., was attended by all Human Initiative (HI) humanitarian practitioners. The assembly was part of the 2025 Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Month commemoration, an important moment to strengthen awareness and encourage preparedness in facing potential disasters in Indonesia.

The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta). Through this partnership, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening synergy between humanitarian organizations and government institutions, ensuring a more solid preparedness system at both community and institutional levels.

Bapak Andjar Radite served as the assembly leader. In his address, he emphasized the key message: “Disasters Do Not Wait, Preparedness Comes First.” He reminded participants that preparedness is not solely the responsibility of government or institutions, but also of every individual.
