
Human Initiative collaborated with the Catholic Relief Service (CRS) and Australian Aid, with the support of the local government present the Psychological First Aid (PFA) manual. This is dur to the number of cases during the COVID-19 pandemic which has put all levels of society in a very vulnerable position to experience mental health problems such as stress, fatigue and burnout.
Psychological support & efforts have been carried out, but more action is needed to reach the wider community in minimizing the negative impact of the pandemic. Because the impact reaches the health side, both physically and mentally.
It is hoped that this book can contribute to creating resilience. So that the community can support each other in a pandemic situation so as be able to grow strong together.
Steps in managing stress
Initial Psychological Support for Affected Communities
There are 3 stages in managing stress, namely:
Be aware of stress: Do not be afraid to admit that we are experiencing stress.
Recognize the stress we experience: identify what type of stress we experience and what causes it. If there is difficulty in identifying this, we should meet with an expert. Or you can also meet the closest people, for example our parents.
