Jakarta, March 4, 2025 – Heavy rainfall that has been pouring over the Jabodetabek area since Sunday night (March 2) has caused flooding in several regions, including South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Bogor Regency. The overflowing Ciliwung River and Pesanggrahan River worsened conditions in these areas, while the Cimanceri River overflowed, leading to flooding in multiple sub-districts in Bogor.
In Jakarta, six sub-districts were affected by the floods: Jagakarsa, Pancoran, Pasar Minggu, Pesanggrahan, Jatinegara, and Kramat Jati. A total of 323 households (1,027 people) were impacted, with 10 households (30 people) forced to evacuate. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of DKI Jakarta has been deployed to conduct assessments and rapid response evaluations.
Meanwhile, in Bogor Regency, floods struck Rumpin, Bojong Gede, and Cisarua. In Sukasari Village, Rumpin Sub-district, one house and an Islamic boarding school were submerged. In Rawapanjang Village, Bojong Gede Sub-district, 137 homes were affected, impacting 547 people. In Tugu Selatan Village, Cisarua Sub-district, 119 houses were submerged, affecting a total of 423 people. One resident has been reported missing after being swept away by the floodwaters.
In Bekasi, floods inundated several sub-districts, affecting thousands of residents. Overflowing rivers and continuous heavy rain have worsened conditions, with reports of water levels reaching one meter in some residential areas. Evacuations have been carried out in several locations, and authorities continue to provide emergency assistance to meet residents’ basic needs.
In response to the disaster, Human Initiative has coordinated with BPBD DKI Jakarta and BPBD Bogor Regency to assist in evacuating affected residents. The rescue team, equipped with a rescue boat, has been deployed to aid in evacuation efforts.
