Sigi Regency – Monday (26/9), Human Initiative (HI) together with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 (Pelindo 4) planted 2,747 fruit trees. This activity is a form of concern for social and environmental responsibility. Moreover, Pelindo and HI are committed to supporting efforts to overcome climate change by implementing a tree planting program.
“This is one of the commitments of the BUMN Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program and is a series of Pelindo’s Anniversary which falls on October 1, 2022,” said Regional Head 4 Pelindo, Mrs. Enriany Muis in her speech.
The Sigi district government really appreciates and welcomes this program. “We are very grateful for this activity and we still hope that there will be (other TJSL programs) especially from Pelindo. God willing, we are ready to accept related to this utilization,” said Iskandar Nongtji, Assistant II for Economics and Development of the Sigi Regency Government during the ceremonial welcoming session of the event.
Meanwhile, Head of the South Sulawesi Human Initiative Branch, Swadi, said that planting trees is a form of human care and love for the earth. Planting trees will also provide good welfare for humans.
“The goal of this collaborative action is to contribute to halting climate change through increasing vegetation cover. The result to be achieved is that there are new trees planted on land in the program’s target area,” he said.
This program in the future will help improve the economic standard of the surrounding community.
“Hopefully with this assistance, in the future we can increase the level of the economy both personally and for the surrounding community. Because why is the goal, with the results this plantation plant can increase the work of the surrounding community from caring to producing fruit,” explained Imron, one of the beneficiaries of this program.
