Bogor, September 23, 2024 – Bank Woori Saudara (BWS) has partnered with Human Initiative to address clean water needs by constructing a borehole well for the residents of Citayam Village, Tajurhalang District, Bogor Regency, West Java.
This borehole construction is a CSR initiative by BWS in collaboration with Human Initiative, aiming to provide the community with access to clean water for improved and equitable sanitation. Bank Woori Saudara’s Corporate Secretary, Mr. Wuryanto, emphasized that this CSR program is BWS’s effort to fulfill the local community’s clean water needs.
“Hopefully, this clean water facility will not only provide adequate and equitable access to sanitation and hygiene for the residents of Citayam Village but also serve as a foundation for improving the quality of life in terms of productivity, health, and overall well-being,” said Wuryanto.
The program ran from August 29, 2024, to September 18, 2024, starting with an Assessment phase to identify areas in need of clean water facilities. This was followed by a Program Socialization phase, where the plan to construct the borehole well at the selected location was communicated to local authorities and the prospective program rights holders.
The borehole construction began with worker mobilization and equipment preparation, followed by the drilling process to a depth of 30 meters, installation of water pumps and pipes, construction of water taps, building a foundation for the tower, installation of a water tank, and placement of a program plaque.
The handover and utilization of the clean water facility took place on September 23, 2024, represented by Human Initiative. With the construction completed, the borehole well is now ready to be optimally used by the community in their daily lives.
Khalik Kusnandar, Donor Account Representative at Human Initiative, expressed gratitude to BWS as the collaborative partner in this initiative. “On behalf of the Human Initiative management, I would like to thank Bank Woori Saudara for entrusting its CSR donation to Human Initiative,” Khalik said.
“May the assistance provided bring benefits to the residents of Citayam Village and blessings to all. We hope BWS continues to thrive and lead in its business,” Khalik added during the event.
M. Aminuddin Abdurrahman, Head of the Athfaalul Atqiyaa Religious Assembly, also conveyed his appreciation to Bank Woori Saudara and Human Initiative for the borehole well and water taps. According to him, the borehole well has been immensely beneficial for the local community, especially during the dry season.
“May this water facility benefit the residents of Gang Lipan, Kampung Baru, RT.03 RW.05, Citayam Village, Tajurhalang District, Bogor. May BWS continue to be blessed and bring even more benefits to many,” said Aminuddin.
“We are incredibly grateful for the assistance from BWS and Human Initiative. This borehole well has been a tremendous help to us. With this support, we no longer struggle to access clean water during the dry season, nor do we have to rely on water from neighbors whose wells haven’t run dry,” added Sintia, a resident of Citayam Village.
