Heroes during Pandemic: Ambulance & Covid-19 Hearse Drivers

A true hero is someone who strives to continue to benefit the surrounding environment. A person who puts the benefit of the people above his own interests. Today’s heroes have a broader meaning. It is no longer always associated with war that requires soldiers taking up arms. Who knows, you too turn out to be a hero to those around you.

Heroes during Pandemic: Sunaryo & Karmini

When the majority of people chose to stay safe, Sunaryo took a bold step by dedicating himself to be a Covid-19 ambulance driver. He has duty to take COVID-19 patients to the hospital for further medical treatment.

He said that as an ordinary human being, it is natural he worries and feels afraid of being infected. Moreover, he interacts directly with Covid-19 sufferers on a daily basis. However, sense of humanity is far above his fear.

There is also Karmini, a great woman who chose to become a volunteer driver of the Covid-19 hearse. Her heart grieved knowing the fact that almost no one was willing to take the Covid-19 body to their final resting place. She was called by the humanity spirit to help.

In fact, initially Karmini’s decision did not get a good response from her family. However, Karmini remained firm in her stance and tried to return home clean so as not to bring the virus into the house.
