Jakarta – Through the support of Citi Foundation, Human Initiative has begun administering a series of IELTS tests for talented refugees in Indonesia under the DREAM Project. This program aims to help refugees complete the necessary documents and portfolios to register for the Talent Catalog, a global platform managed by Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB) that connects refugees with formal employment opportunities abroad.
The DREAM Project targets 220 talented refugees living in the Greater Jakarta area, Medan, and Makassar. The program began in January 2025 and is scheduled to run until July 2026. During this period, participants will take part in mock tests and the official IELTS test, which is a key requirement for applying for jobs overseas.
The IELTS tests are conducted in collaboration with official language education service providers to ensure that the results are internationally recognized. These tests serve as proof of the participants’ English communication skills, which are among the essential qualifications in the global workforce recruitment process.
Through this program, refugees are expected to have greater opportunities to secure employment internationally. In addition to opening access to the global labor market, the program also serves as part of a broader effort to enhance the skills and capacities of individual refugees.
The DREAM Project stands as a tangible commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable labor mobility, while supporting talented refugees in Indonesia to build a better future.
