Makassar, December 24, 2024 – PLN Indonesia Power Unit Bisnis Pembangkitan (UBP) Tello, in collaboration with Human Initiative South Sulawesi, has distributed aid to flood survivors in Makassar. The aid distribution took place in the Tello Baru subdistrict, a Ring 1 area for UBP Tello, as well as other affected areas, including Paccerakang, Antang, and nearby regions.

Hariady Bayu Aji, Manager of PLN IP UBP Tello, stated that this activity is part of UBP Tello’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. “This assistance is aimed at alleviating the burden of communities affected by the floods while meeting their basic and nutritional needs,” he said.

Human Initiative South Sulawesi supported the aid distribution efforts, which included packages of basic necessities, fresh chicken, fish, vegetables, and fruits to address the nutritional needs of the affected communities. Additionally, hygiene kits for infants, including diapers, telon oil, and other essentials, were also provided.

“Human Initiative appreciates the prompt and coordinated response by PLN IP UBP Tello to this disaster. This collaboration reflects the spirit of mutual assistance that we believe can ease the burden of our brothers and sisters affected by the floods,” said the Coordinator of Human Initiative South Sulawesi.

Isvan Qadir Djahar, Head of the Tello Baru subdistrict, expressed his gratitude for the partnership. “This collaboration has been immensely helpful to the flood-affected communities, particularly in meeting their basic needs. Thank you for the care and support provided,” he remarked.

The Tello Baru subdistrict was prioritized for aid due to its proximity to UBP Tello’s operations, but assistance was also extended to several other severely affected areas in Makassar.
