Human Initiative Distributes Humanitarian Aid for Flood Survivors in South Kalimantan

Hulu Sungai Tengah – Rain with moderate to high intensity caused flooding on 12 January 2021 in South Kalimantan. According to data from BNPB, as of Monday (18/01/2021) 54,960 houses were submerged and 70,166 people were displaced.

As a humanitarian organization, the Human Initiative took part in responding to the flood disaster, by sending a Rescue Team from East Kalimantan to help evacuate and provide humanitarian assistance, on Saturday (16/01/2021).

Currently, the Human Initiative Post is located in Hantakan Village, Hantakan District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, South Kalimantan. The Human Initiative has also distributed some aid to survivors. The assistance provided was in the form of food packages, support for public kitchens, processed meat and kitchen utensils. A Water Kitchen Post was also set up besides providing health services to evacuation posts.

Meanwhile, the assistance that is still needed at this time is Food items, Hygiene kits, Cooking sets, Shelter kits, and Clean Water. Apart from that, health services, as well as medicine, are still badly needed by the flood survivors of South Kalimantan.
