Human Initiative Hosts Local Champion Forum 2024, Inspiring Community Movers

Human Initiative held the Humanity Champion Local Forum 2024 in the Senggigi tourist area, Batulayar District, West Lombok Regency, on Friday (16/8/24). This event was organized to promote sustainable development by bringing together local champions from across Indonesia as inspiration for driving change in their respective communities.

The forum adopted a workshop concept, featuring 25 local champions who are the main drivers of community empowerment in their areas. In addition to the 25 local champions, the event was attended by the President of Human Initiative, leaders of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), regional officials, and 25 other champions from Sabang to Merauke. They were accompanied by Human Initiative with the hope of becoming pioneers of inspiration in sustainable development in Indonesia and the world.

Empowerment Themes in the Local Champion Forum

During the forum, there were at least two key topics of discussion: the transformation of local champions’ empowerment and its impact on sustainable economic resilience, and best practices in empowerment programs. In addition, the launch of the book “Guidelines for Setting Standards of Quality of Life in Humanitarian and Development Programs” was also part of the event.

Tomy Hendarjati, President of Human Initiative Indonesia, explained that his organization acts as a bridge for local champions across various sectors in Indonesia. “Currently, Human Initiative’s presence in the community serves as a primary platform for local champions to continue developing and progressing,” he stated.

One of the local champions present shared their experience being supported by Human Initiative, moving from having no micro-business or educational institutions to seeing significant changes in the community, such as increased awareness of the importance of education.
