Human Initiative Supports Inspirational Midwife Program to Reduce Stunting

Human Initiative in collaboration with Kimia Farma support the Inspirational Midwife program as part of efforts to reduce stunting among children in Indonesia.
This collaboration also involves Kitabisa, the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Banten Branch and the Tangerang Health Office. The 2021 Inspirational Midwife program was launched on July 5, 2020, with the registration period starting from July 25 to August 31, 2020.
Of 1,474 participants, 15 midwives were selected to carry out their program from December 2020 to June 2021. They received a donation of Rp. 10 million respectively from Kimia Farma to fund their project aimed at reducing stunting rates in Tangerang, Banten.
In addition to screening and judging, the Human Initiative assisted midwives through training programs and coaching sessions. Human Initiative also coordinates with relevant stakeholders including the Ministry of Health and the Health Service, IBI, as well as local community leaders.
Six midwives were awarded for the successful implementation of their program, with five winners in addition to a special category for most inspiring story. The six will receive an education fund of Rp 50 million, while the 15 finalists will receive additional grant funds to continue the program of Rp 132 million obtained through a crowdfunding campaign on kitabisa.com.
Vice President of Operation Human Initiative Andjar Radite said, the Inspirational Midwife program inspired all parties involved, praising the high spirit of midwives in serving the community during the pandemic.
