Centratama Group, in collaboration with Human Initiative, held the kick-off meeting for the digital library program at SMPN 24 Medan on Wednesday, July 9. This program has received full support from the Medan government, with representatives from the Medan Education Office, BAPPEDA Medan, the Medan Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office, and the Medan Library and Archives Office attending the event.
The Principal of SMPN 24 Medan, Mrs. Rohanim, expressed her gratitude for the program implemented at the school.
“We are optimistic that this program will greatly help improve literacy for both students and teachers at this school, and we are deeply thankful to the Education Office for recommending this school. Additionally, Centratama Group and Human Initiative have collaborated to advance education in Medan through this digital library,” she said.
GM of Partnerships at Human Initiative, Azi Abdul Azis, also extended his thanks to all parties involved in the collaboration for the successful implementation of this program.
“North Sumatra is the third province for the collaboration between Centratama Group and Human Initiative in building digital libraries, after the previous implementations in Pangkal Pinang and Aceh. We hope this program can be replicated by other institutions so that the digitalization of education can continue and benefit the progress of education in Indonesia,” he added.
Vice President of Human Capital at Centratama Group, Kania Mustikasari, in her speech, mentioned that Centratama Group is a telecommunications infrastructure company in Indonesia.
“Centratama Group is proud to contribute to advancing education in Indonesia through the development of digital libraries in schools. Through this program, we hope to increase students’ and teachers’ interest in reading and provide limitless access to improve literacy in Indonesia. Centratama Group’s CSR program has been ongoing since 2023, and this year, six schools will receive the CSR Digital Library, including SMPN 24 Medan.”
Prayogi, a representative from the Medan Education Office, also expressed appreciation and support for the activity carried out by Centratama Group and Human Initiative. “Alhamdulillah, today we gather to carry out the kick-off meeting for the digital library at SMPN 24 Medan. We thank Centratama Group and Human Initiative for contributing to improving education in Indonesia, especially in the Medan area, through the digital library that will be established at this school.”
The digital library itself is part of Centratama Group’s CSR program, which has been implemented since 2023. Through this CSR program, Centratama Group aims to provide a positive contribution to society and the surrounding environment, in line with corporate social responsibility principles.
