Kick Off Ride for Indonesia: 7 Cyclists Cover 300 KM from Hamburg to Berlin

Hamburg, 30 September 2024 – Ride for Indonesia officially started today with seven cyclists embarking on a journey of approximately 300 km from Hamburg to Berlin. This event, taking place from August 30 to September 1, was initiated by the Human Initiative Germany Representative as a collaborative effort to support the Kindness Program for orphans and underprivileged children in Indonesia.

This collaboration involves various Indonesian diaspora organizations in Germany and is fully supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, Germany. Among the collaborating partners are: the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, MQ Bike, IWKZ Berlin, FORKOM Germany, IKPM Europe, Graha International, Warung Garuda, Toko Nusantara, Toko Indonesia, P3H Hamburg (Hamburg Youth Religious Study Group), and Bike to Work.

Prio Adhi Setiawan, one of the cyclists participating in the event, expressed that this is a great opportunity for collaboration.

“Although we are separated by distance, we hope this serves as an inspiration to others that all children have the same right to continue their education and receive healthcare,” he added.

In addition to Prio, six other cyclists also took part in this journey, including Andrie Gunawan, Thoriq, Adnan, Dendy, Alqadrian, and Pandu Darwoko.

Amru Rizal, Human Initiative Germany Representative, added, “Ride for Indonesia is a collaboration between a healthy hobby and caring for underprivileged children in Indonesia. We hope that this event will be positively received by the community and will inspire more support for Indonesian children so that we can move towards a Golden Indonesia.”

Novi from the Bike to Work (B2W) community also expressed her support, “Our friends at B2W are very supportive. Usually, we see events like this in Indonesia, but this time it’s in Europe. Of course, this is motivating, and at the same time, it can help Indonesian orphans and underprivileged children. God willing, B2W will collaborate again for future ride and charity events.”

The Ride for Indonesia event is expected to not only inspire the Indonesian diaspora in Europe but also the broader community to continue supporting Indonesian children in achieving a brighter future.
