Commemorating World Mangrove Day, North Sumatra Human Initiative and Pertamina Planted 1000 Trees in Bagan Serdang.
Deli Serdang: Human Initiative North Sumatra (Sumut) and Pertamina launched the Community Self-Help Park and Mangrove Ecotourism program. This program was conducted in Bagan Serdang Village, Kec. Labu Beach, Kab. Deli Serdang on Tuesday (28/7/2020).
In this program, the North Sumatra Human Initiative together with Pertamina carried out several activities. Among other things, the handover of development assistance for mangrove ecotourism and then planting 1000 mangrove trees.
In this activity, all participants were invited to clean up the trash along the Bagan Serdang beach, which later the waste products will be made into an ecobrick by ECoWomen Pertamina.
Those who attended this launch were Mr. Roby Hervindo (Comm and CSR Manager of Pertamina MOR 1 Medan), Mr. Anas (Operations Head TBBM Medan) and also attended by several other Pertamina employees.
The local government was attended by the Bagan Serdang sub-district office, represented by Abdul Mufidh. Then there is the head of Bagan Serdang Village, namely Imran AZ, and from the Upt Deli Serdang Forest Service.
“This activity received a positive response. With this assistance program, mangrove ecotourism will have an impact on our sales of merchandise in the future, “said a trader around Bagan Serdang mangrove beach.
Meanwhile, the Human Initiative was represented by the Head of the North Sumatra Human Initiative Branch Zulhidayat, ST, .M.Si. He said, apart from coinciding with World Mangrove Day, this program is also part of educating people living on the coast of Bagan Serdang.
“We hope this program can also educate the public. Especially those on the coast about the importance of mangroves, “said Zulhidayat.
“The activities sponsored by Pertamina’s CSR are an effort to care for the company towards the environment around the company’s operational area. This event was welcomed by the program beneficiaries and the surrounding community, ”explained Zulhidayat.
