As we approach Ramadan 1446 Hijri, it is important to remember that this sacred month is not just about refraining from food and drink. It is also a time to support and strengthen one another. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned that those who merely endure hunger without seeking forgiveness are at a loss. This is emphasized in the following hadith:
غِمَ أَنْفُ عَبْدٍ – أَوْ بَعُدَ – دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ رَمَضَانُ فَلَمْ يُغْفَرْ لَهُ
“Woe to a servant who experiences Ramadan, yet lets it pass without having their sins forgiven.” (HR. Ahmad)
To ensure that fasting is more than just enduring hunger and thirst, Dear Initiators can take this opportunity to strengthen each other. By doing so, we can make the most of Ramadan and avoid being among those who fail to reap its blessings. Human Initiative shares the importance of supporting one another during this holy month.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the best example for all Muslims, was known for his immense generosity—especially during Ramadan. This is highlighted in the following hadith:
“The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was even more generous during Ramadan when Jibril met him. Jibril would meet him every night to teach him the Qur’an. The generosity of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was greater than the blowing wind.” (HR. Bukhari, no. 6)
When we give to others, we are following in the Prophet’s footsteps, which is a highly virtuous act. In doing so, Dear Initiators will earn rewards for practicing one of the Prophet’s noble traditions.
As we have learned, the Prophet’s generosity in Ramadan was unparalleled. One way Dear Initiators can follow his example is by providing iftar meals for others who are fasting. This simple act of kindness can result in multiplied rewards, as stated in the hadith:
“Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break their fast, they will receive the same reward as the fasting person, without reducing the latter’s reward in the slightest.” (HR. At-Tirmidhi no. 807, classified as Hasan Sahih)
By continuously sharing kindness, we naturally strengthen our bonds with others. Ramadan is not just about individual worship—it is also an opportunity to build and nurture relationships with family, friends, and the community. This ensures that no one feels alone and that we grow stronger together.
Dear Initiators, supporting one another during Ramadan reminds us that this holy month is about more than just fasting. It is a time to share, strengthen relationships, and earn immense rewards. Let’s take full advantage of this Ramadan by increasing our good deeds and #StrengtheningEachOther.
