PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello and Human Initiative Hold Health Seminar and Free Medical Check-Up

Makassar, (09/07) – PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello, in collaboration with Human Initiative South Sulawesi, held a mental health seminar and free medical check-up for residents of Tello Baru Subdistrict on Saturday, 9 August 2025. The event was attended by Tello Baru Subdistrict Head, Isvan Qadar Djachir, and was officially opened by the Head of PLN UBP Tello.

The activity began with a health seminar presented by Kurniati Zainuddin on the theme of managing stress. In her presentation, she explained the causes of stress, its impact on physical and mental health, and practical steps to overcome it.

The community showed great enthusiasm in participating in the seminar. During the Q&A session, which was dominated by fathers, housewives, and elderly participants, the discussion was interactive and engaging.

After the seminar, participants received health services that included blood pressure checks, doctor consultations, blood sugar tests, uric acid tests, and cholesterol checks. For children, nutritional assessments were provided. Participants also received medication according to their health conditions, while children were given porridge and nutritious food packages.

Tello Baru Subdistrict Head, Isvan Qadar Djachir, stated that this activity is in line with the Makassar City Government’s program, which pays attention to comprehensive health aspects. “The Makassar City Government focuses on health not only in post-illness recovery but, more importantly, on preventive efforts that must be carried out jointly by the city government and the community,” he said.

Mustafa, Assistant Manager of Finance and General Affairs at PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello, explained that this activity is a routine agenda within PLN UBP Tello’s primary operational area. “We would also like to thank Human Initiative. This program is a follow-up to the results of social mapping, which has led to various activities that help the community,” he said.

The Head of Human Initiative South Sulawesi expressed appreciation to PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello for entrusting them with the implementation of this program. “This activity is one of the extraordinary initiatives from PLN UBP Tello. They see how the community in Tello Baru can become self-reliant, develop competencies, and also receive proper attention for their health,” he said.

Through this activity, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello and Human Initiative South Sulawesi hope that the community will not only receive health services but also increase their awareness and knowledge in maintaining physical and mental health in a sustainable way.
