PLN IP UBP Tello Collaborates with Human Initiative to Inaugurate BSU Lavender HOME Reading Park

Makassar, July 23, 2024 – PT PLN Indonesia Power, through its Tello Power Generation Business Unit (UBP Tello), has inaugurated the BSU Lavender Reading Park and HOME (Hug, Opportunity, Mentality, Education) Children Learning Centre. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with Human Initiative Sulsel, is part of the National Children’s Day celebrations.

The inauguration was attended by the Assistant Manager of Administration & General Affairs at PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello, community leaders, and the Makassar city government. In his speech, Mustafa emphasized that BSU Lavender HOME Reading Park is not just a place for reading but also a center for developing children’s creativity and mentality.

“This Reading Park embraces the HOME concept to provide equal opportunities for achieving dreams. This facility serves as a center for training, character building, and non-formal education for orphans and underprivileged children,” said Mustafa. He also expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in establishing this reading park.

This program is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello. Through this reading park, PLN is committed to enhancing the quality of education in the community by providing comfortable facilities such as a spacious reading room, a diverse collection of books, and a safe play area. All these are designed to help children learn more effectively and enjoyably.

Mrs. Sunarti, head of BSU Lavender, appreciated PLN’s efforts in providing a reading home, which is expected to enhance interaction and collaborative learning among children. Mr. Irwan, Secretary of Tello Baru Subdistrict, also expressed his gratitude for PLN’s contribution to the development of the BSU Lavender Reading Park.

With the presence of BSU Lavender HOME Reading Park, PLN Indonesia Power UBP Tello hopes to foster a strong literacy culture among children, support their potential development, and create a generation that is intelligent, creative, and morally upright. This initiative is expected to bring sustainable positive impacts to the Tello community and its surroundings.
