Qurban Early Bird: The Easy Solution to Share Kindness in Africa

In Africa, beef consumption remains relatively low. On average, a person in Africa consumes only about 9.6 kg of beef between 2021 and 2023, which equates to around 3.2 kg per year. This was stated by Saifaddin Galal in his research on Statista. Clearly, this number is far from the minimum beef consumption threshold. During the same period, Africa had the lowest beef consumption rate in the world. Predictions suggest that by 2033, beef consumption in Africa will decrease even further to 3.1 kg. Furthermore, Galal also noted that chicken consumption has surpassed beef consumption in Africa.

Why Is Beef Consumption So Low in Africa?

The primary reason behind Africa’s low beef consumption is socio-economic factors. Those involved in the beef industry in Africa face significant challenges in production, slaughtering, and even distribution. Adesola and colleagues, in their article on BioOne, explained that the difficulties faced by those working with cattle in Africa stem from unbalanced profits. It is not surprising, considering that chicken consumption has already overtaken beef consumption across the continent.

Qurban Early Bird: An Easier Way to Perform Sacrifice

Now, Human Initiative presents the Qurban Early Bird program, aimed at reducing the cost of purchasing sacrificial animals. This program offers special prices for those wishing to perform the sacrifice. Human Initiative has opened this offer, allowing participants to buy their sacrificial animal (cow) ahead of time. The meat from these animals will be distributed to 3T areas (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost). The domestic regions targeted by this program include:

  • Central Sulawesi
  • South Sulawesi
  • West Sulawesi
  • North Sulawesi
  • Gorontalo
  • Maluku

In addition to these domestic regions, the Qurban Early Bird program will also distribute the sacrificial meat to several countries in Africa, such as:

  • Uganda
  • Kenya
  • Somalia

Currently, Human Initiative is running the Qurban Early Bird 1/7 Cow program. The cows used weigh between 200-230 kg live weight. The cows will be distributed to various regions, both domestically and abroad.

The goal of the Qurban Early Bird program is to provide an easy and light way to share kindness with our brothers and sisters, both within the country and overseas. In doing so, we hope to ensure that our brothers and sisters in Africa can also experience the benefits of the sacrifice.
