North Tapanuli earthquake which had a magnitude of 6.9 on the Richter scale (SR) occurred on Saturday (1/10/2022) early in the morning, at 02.28 WIB due to the activity of the large Sumatran fault in the renun segment. The earthquake caused damage to a number of roads, houses, offices, hospitals, houses of worship, and other public facilities. According to data from BMKG, as of October 2, 2022, at 16.00 WIB, there were 99 aftershocks in North Tapanuli earthquake.
