Supporting the Independent Children’s Learning, Human Initiative Launches Be A Star

Balikpapan –Realizing the importance of children’s rights to education, Human Initiative (HI) is committed to supporting the education of 138 underprivileged orphans. This commitment is stated in the Launching of the Smart Acceleration Scholarship (Be A Star) for the 2022-2023 academic year on Sunday (25/9). With the theme “Move for Freedom of Learning, for Indonesia’s Tough Children”, the agenda that took place at Hotel Her marked the start of the scholarship program for the next period. Scholarship program participants will receive character assistance, soft skill improvement, scholarships and school supplies.

This activity was attended by Triyuni Astuti as a representative of the Education and Culture Office of the City of Balikpapan and the DWP Board of Directors of the East Kalimantan Regional Tax Office. The Community of 1000 Teachers of Balikpapan and donors of Foster Parents also attended this activity.

Yeni Kartika, Head of the East Kalimantan Human Initiative Branch in her speech said that this program is a form of support for the fulfillment of children’s education rights.
“Alhamdulillah, the donors support the program as a driving force for children’s independent learning so that it can become the forerunner to the realization of a generation of strong Indonesian children. The Be A Star program is one of the core IR programs, namely the Initiative for Children. These are all part of our efforts to fulfill children’s rights in the field of education,” said Yeni.

Ila as a representative of foster parent donors said, “We are grateful to be able to continue to support this program, so that it can continue to be implemented. Hopefully with the scholarships given, children can increase their enthusiasm for learning and achieve their goals.”
Triyuni Astuti also gave a speech and opened the event.

“We really appreciate the launching of the Be A Star program because this program is a positive idea in guarding children’s education,” he said
The event continued with a symbolic handover to participants from representatives of each level. The motivation for learning was also conveyed by Kak Heri from the 1000 Guru Balikpapan community. At the end of the event, HI distributed school supplies to Be A Star beneficiaries.
