Temporary Shelters and Clean Water: Recovery Efforts Continue in Sunting Village

Recovery efforts continue in Sunting Village after flooding affected Aceh Tamiang at the end of 2025. Many families lost homes or lived in damaged houses, while access to clean water became one of the important needs during the recovery phase.

Human Initiative, together with partners and donors, supported the community through temporary shelters and clean water facilities. These forms of support helped families regain a safer place to stay and easier access to water for cooking, bathing, washing, and other household needs.

Temporary shelters give families a space to reorganize life while the rehabilitation and reconstruction process continues. Clean water support also helps reduce daily burdens and supports healthier living conditions, especially for vulnerable groups such as older people, children, people with disabilities, and families with limited economic capacity.

The recovery process requires time and togetherness. Through the #SumatraPulih spirit, Human Initiative invites the public to continue supporting communities affected by disasters so more families can recover with dignity and hope.
