In Ngambak Wetan Hamlet, Ngambakrejo Village, Tanggungharjo Subdistrict, Grobogan Regency, stands the Barakatil Mukminin Mosque. For many years, this modest mosque has served as a place of worship, a center for community bonding, and a hub for religious learning. However, over time, the once-sturdy wooden structure has grown frail. The walls have decayed, the roof leaks, and the prayer carpets are worn thin, forcing the congregation to worship amid many limitations. The lack of proper prayer equipment has made it even harder for residents to pray in comfort.
For the people of the village, the mosque is more than just a place of prostration. It is a space where they grow together, strengthen social ties, and nurture their understanding of faith. Children learn to read the Qur’an there, while adults gather for study sessions and share knowledge with one another. Although the mosque building has weakened, the spirit of the community has not. They continue to maintain and care for it with whatever resources they have. One villager quietly expressed their hope, saying, “We only wish for this mosque to be strong again, so we can worship in peace.”
Seeing this condition, Human Initiative, together with local partners, has taken concrete steps to rebuild the Barakatil Mukminin Mosque. The reconstruction plan includes building a seven-by-seven-meter mosque on waqf land, capable of accommodating up to one hundred worshippers. The initiative goes beyond physical construction. It aims to revive the spirit of togetherness and the serenity of worship within the community.
A strong and safe mosque provides space for children to learn and for residents to strengthen their faith. This effort reflects the true essence of care, collaboration, and community solidarity.
Human Initiative believes that every transformation begins with compassion. Let us join hands in this act of goodness through solusipeduli.org. Together, we can rebuild places of worship that nurture faith and strengthen the social fabric of the community.
