Webinar Igniting Indonesian Child Nutrition Expectations “Recognizing Stunting and How to Overcome It”

Depok – Human Initiative collaborating with Limitless Foundation and Danone Indonesia held a Webinar #NyalakanHarapan on Indonesian Children Nutrition themed: Recognizing Stunting and How to Overcome It. This event aims to build collective awareness of the future of Indonesian children as the issue of stunting is still a challenge in this country. This event was virtually organized and was attended by a number of participants from the public.

Also present as a speaker in the webinar were the Head of the BKKBN RI, Dr. (H.C.) dr. Hasto Wardoyo, SP.OG(K) and Doctor and Founder of Limitless Foundation, Dr. Nadhira Afifa, MPH. They explained the issue of stunting among children and its prevention efforts.

Dr. (H.C.) dr. Hasto Wardoyo, SP.OG(K) in his presentation conveyed an understanding of the stunting program intervention from the perspective of the work of the BKKBN and efforts to handle the national stunting issue. As we know, the issue of stunting is a special concern for the government now.

In Nadhira Afifa’s session, she explained education about stunting and the factors causing it. Including explaining the importance of paying attention to the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK) as well as steps to find out stunting in children. In her presentation, Dr. Nadhira also added that there needs to be comprehensive cooperation from various parties to prevent stunting in children.

Collaboration of Various Parties to Prevent Stunting

Also present on this occasion were representatives from Danone Indonesia and Human Initiative. They respectively explained the steps and programs that had taken place to help reduce stunting rates in Indonesia.

Nadhira Afifa explained, “Limitless Foundation is committed to improving access to education and children’s health in Indonesia. Through the program For Remote Children, we hope that the agenda in it can contribute to efforts to increase access to education and children’s health in Indonesia, especially in efforts to deal with stunting and malnutrition in remote parts of Indonesia.”

In addition, Arif Mujahidin as Corporate Communications Director of Danone Indonesia explained, “In line with the company’s mission to bring health to as many people as possible, stunting prevention and treatment efforts are the main focus of the company’s side. We believe that every child has the right to progress and develop independently of the problem of stunting. Because stunting children not only experience physical growth barriers, but also inadequate nutrition also affects the strength of the immune system to the development of the child’s brain. In line with our main program, Together Preventing Stunting, we partner with Human Initiative and Limitless, to provide education to as many people as possible in the hope of reducing stunting growth in Indonesia.”

The event ended with the launch of a collaboration between Human Initiative, the Limitless Foundation, and Danone Indonesia in a program that focuses on strengthening the nutrition of Indonesian children. Hopefully this effort can have a positive impact on the future of Indonesia and help #NyalakanHarapan of the nation’s children.
