A Mother’s Prayer, for the Foster Parents of Her Daughter

There are many stories behind the Human Initiative’s Foster Parent Program (OTA). This program, which connects kind-hearted individuals to children from underprivileged families, has always succeeded in touching hearts. From love letters to the foster parents, updates on the progress of the children benefiting from the program, and, of course, heartfelt thank-you videos from the foster children’s families.

One of these stories involves Mrs. Sofi (39), the mother of Putri (16), one of the children who received a scholarship through the Human Initiative’s OTA program. In a brief discussion, she joyfully expressed her gratitude to the foster parents who have been supporting and caring for Putri through the OTA program.

From the stories gathered by Human Initiative volunteers, Mrs. Sofi’s struggle to raise Putri has been nothing short of extraordinary. Her journey began when her husband left her and Putri when the little girl was just two years old.

However, Mrs. Sofi remained resilient and determined. With the support of Putri’s grandparents (Mrs. Sofi’s parents), she persevered through difficult times. Her strength grew further when the Foster Parents came forward, assuring a brighter future for Putri.

Thanks to the kindness of the OTA Human Initiative program, Putri was able to continue her education. She has achieved numerous accomplishments, including memorizing seven juz (sections) of the Quran.

Mrs. Sofi sincerely hopes that Putri will become a person who contributes positively to society, just like the foster parents and the Human Initiative program that have illuminated her daughter’s future.

“May the foster parents and all other parents be blessed with continuous sustenance and have all their affairs made easy. May they also be able to benefit other children, just like my daughter,” she said.
