Clean Water Program: Drilled Wells and Public Toilets for Residents of Cijeuler, West Java

Garut – Friday (4/11), the Clean Water Program was launched in Cijeuler Village, Cibiuk Kidul Village, Garut Regency. This activity is a form of collaboration between Wakaf Salman and West Java Human Initiative. This event was attended by various parties who participated in the success of the program, among others, the Salman Waqf, West Java Human Initiative, local government, community leaders and residents of Cijeleur Village. The Clean Water System Facility Program runs by empowering the community through drilling wells of 80 meter depth, building reservoirs, electrical panels, toilets and pipelines to residents’ homes. Kampung Cijeuler is an area facing clean water difficulties. Many local residents have to travel up to 1 kilometer to meet their clean water needs. Aside from the dry season, the difficulty in obtaining clean water sources has made this village the location for program implementation.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to Wakaf Salman and Human Initiative for their assistance. Every year Cijeuler village experiences drought and it is difficult to get clean water. With this assistance, we hope to be able to help the residents’ daily clean water needs,” said Mr. Usep as the village head of Cibiuk Kidul.

“With the collaboration of Wakaf Salman and the Human Initiative, we are able to help provide clean water solutions, which have long been a problem there. Hopefully the residents are able to maintain this clean water facility properly,” said Mr. Yandi, Senior Assistant Manager of the Salman Waqf Program.

The Head of the West Java HI Branch, Indra Budi Legowo said that the success of this program was due to the collaboration with various parties.

“Hopefully the Clean Water Program will benefit approximately 350 families in Cijeuler village,” he said.
