Demak – The floods that hit Demak Regency, Central Java, in early February 2024, forced many residents to evacuate. To help alleviate the burden of the refugees, Human Initiative and XM Indonesia collaborated on the “Water Kitchen Post” program.
The “Water Kitchen Post” program lasted for 7 days, from February 14 to 20, 2024. Located at the Evacuation Post of SDN 02 Gajah and IPHI Building, Gajah Village, Gajah District, Demak Regency, Central Java. This program distributed hot meals and hot drinks packages to the refugees.
The Human Initiative team went directly to distribute aid to the refugees. The distributed meal packages contained prepackaged food such as rice, side dishes, and vegetables. Meanwhile, the beverage packages contained warm beverages such as tea and coffee.
A representative from XM Indonesia, a collaborative partner in this program, expressed gratitude to Human Initiative for their cooperation. He hoped that the “Water Kitchen Post” program would benefit the refugees.
“Hopefully, the aid (Water Kitchen Post) provided to the refugees can be beneficial and bring happiness to them,” he said.
The “Water Kitchen Post” program is one form of Human Initiative’s commitment to assisting communities affected by disasters, especially during the emergency phase. Human Initiative will continue to collaborate with various parties to alleviate the burden of disaster-affected communities in Indonesia.
One of the affected residents, Ahmad*, expressed gratitude for the aid from the water kitchen post program.
