Fulfilling Children’s Right to Play, Together with Orphans Duafa to Taman Safari Indonesia

5 December 2022

Last November, Human Initiative with Donors had the opportunity to invite orphans to play together at Taman Safari, Puncak, Bogor. Apart from accompanying them on weekends, this activity is also in the context of fulfilling one of the basic rights of children, namely the child’s right to play. More than 150 orphans spread over 5 places in Jabodetabek area took part in this activity.

Didik Prasetyo, the Project Manager of this activity expressed the enthusiasm of Human Initiative volunteers in accompanying their younger siblings’ activities today.

“Hopefully this can be an important part of their growth. Hopefully, this experience can motivate them to continue carrying out their daily activities with enthusiasm. This is also an opportunity for us to continue to support the fulfillment of children’s basic rights.” he said.
The journey that started in the morning ended just before sunset. The orphans are divided into several groups led by a facilitator. They were playing and tried various kinds of rides ranging from animal shows to modern rides such as bumper cars.

Lintang*, one of the beneficiaries expressed his feelings on this occasion.

“To be honest, I’ve never been to Taman Safari. And today I am very happy! Thank you for inviting us today,” he said, with full of emotion.

Even though it was raining at the end of the day, their enthusiasm did not fade away. The children were still enthusiastic about exploring all the games at Taman Safari Indonesia. The activity ended with lunch before they return home.

Thank you Initiator friend. The orphans and duafas rarely have the opportunities to have vacation like this. Hopefully this activity will be an important part of their growth period. If you want to participate, you can visit solusipeduli.org/nyalakanharapan.
