Cianjur – Cianjur earthquake on September 21 affected tens of thousands of local residents. Human Initiative collaborated with PT Centratama Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Centratama), a company engaged in the telecommunications sector. Monday (5/12), Human Initiative distributed 980 aid packages and set up 2 Water Kitchens for 1,000 affected residents. This distribution is to meet the basic needs of residents affected by Cianjur earthquake quickly precisely and with dignity during the emergency response period.
Director of Centratama, Hartanto, expressed his empathy for the Cianjur Earthquake. He also expressed his gratitude to Human Initiative as a partner for this distribution activity.
Through this collaboration, Human Initiative distributed aid to 1,000 residents according to their individual needs. Through the Impact Assessment team, Human Initiative maps the needs at each point. The assistance distributed was in the form of shelter kits and bedding kits. Both types of assistance are to ensure displaced residents get safe housing and comfort during rest. Furthermore, assistance in the form of personal hygiene kits for personal hygiene to prevent post-disaster disease and food aid to support the nutritional needs of the survivors were also distributed. Nutritious food is distributed through Human initiative’s field kitchen located at the temporary shelter location. HI also set up water kitchen which provides warm drinks and snacks for the survivors.
Vice President of Human Initiative, Rully Barlian Thamrin said that multi-stakeholder collaboration is needed to help affected Cianjur residents. He also explained that Human Initiative in its actions always conducts impact studies as an effort to make the aid distributed right on target.
