HI Sets Up Water Kitchen, Situation Report on Mount Semeru Eruption,

On Sunday (4/12), Mount Semeru erupted followed by Hot Clouds (APG) at 02.46 WIB. After this incident, the status of Mount Semeru rose from Standby (level III) to Caution (level IV). The increase in the alert level has been effective since Sunday 4 December 2022 at 12.00 WIB. The local BPBD and a team of volunteers coordinate and prepare for the next possibility.
Human Initiative Response to Mount Semeru Eruption
Human Initiative team has coordinated with the BPBD of Lumajang Regency and local volunteers regarding the current condition of the community and evacuation after the Semeru eruption. Apart from that, Assessment activities also took place in the Penanggal Village Refuge area. On the other hand, Human Initiative team immediately set up a Water Kitchen at the Evacuation Center and distributed ready-to-eat food.
