Human Initiative Collaborates with Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance and the Indonesian Government to Send Aid to Palestine

Jakarta – Human Initiative, in collaboration with the Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance (IHA), worked with the Indonesian government to distribute humanitarian aid to Gaza, Palestine, on Saturday, November 4th. This humanitarian aid came from various sources, including the public, humanitarian organizations, government agencies such as TNI-Polri, and the Indonesian government.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially led the release of humanitarian aid from Indonesia to Gaza, Palestine, at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta. In his speech, President Jokowi expressed that this step is a manifestation of Indonesia’s solidarity and concern for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Palestine.

“This is Indonesia’s expression of solidarity, Indonesia’s expression of concern for humanity because the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza is unacceptable and must be stopped as soon as possible,” said President Jokowi in his address, as reported by the official YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat (4/11).

President Jokowi specifically mentioned that this humanitarian aid came from various sources, including the Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance (IHA), which includes Human Initiative. He further hoped that this kindness would continue as a demonstration of Indonesia’s compassion.

“This aid is not only from the government but also from the public and the business community, channeled through various humanitarian agencies,” he stated.

The first phase of humanitarian aid, weighing 51.5 tons and consisting of food, medical supplies, blankets, tents, and logistical items tailored to the needs of the people in Gaza, involved all the participating elements. Subsequently, this aid will be transported via three Hercules aircraft to El Arish Airport in Egypt. In coordination with the Red Crescent and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the humanitarian aid will enter Gaza, Palestine, through the Rafah border crossing.

 

From the People of Indonesia to Palestine

Human Initiative, as a globally-reaching humanitarian organization, collaborated with the Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance (IHA) to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. This collaboration strengthens various humanitarian organizations in Indonesia in advocacy and international-level activities.

Over the past month, Human Initiative worked with IHA to coordinate the distribution of humanitarian aid to Gaza, Palestine, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This advocacy resulted in cooperation between IHA and the Indonesian government in the distribution of humanitarian aid.

IHA and its members are committed to providing humanitarian aid in accordance with the needs of the survivors in Palestine. In this context, Human Initiative, alongside the kindness of the Indonesian people, sent humanitarian aid in the form of 1,920 blankets to meet the needs before the winter season.

Tomy Hendrajati, President of Human Initiative, who participated in the release of humanitarian aid, ensured that the aid is highly beneficial to the people in Gaza, Palestine. On behalf of Human Initiative, he expressed gratitude to the Indonesian people for strengthening humanitarian solidarity with the situation in Palestine.

“God willing, this aid will be very beneficial for our brothers and sisters in Gaza who are in great need. Thank you for your support for Human Initiative. God willing, we will continue with the next humanitarian programs for our brothers and sisters in Palestine,” he concluded.
