Human Initiative Collaborates with PDHI to Ensure Sacrificial Animals Are Free of FMD Outbreaks

Jakarta – Welcoming the 2022 Qurban festivity, Wednesday (22/06) Human Initiative in collaboration with the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI) ensures the health of the Qurban animal. This collaboration strengthens the quality control of animals in the sheds of Human Initiative partners. Including the health condition of the sacrificial animals in the midst of the current FMD (mouth and nail disease) outbreak.
Through the Qurban Distribution Program, Human Initiative collaborates with partners in the Qurban sheds spread across various regions in Indonesia. Later, there will be assistance and animal health checks by PDHI in the sheds.
Andjar Radite, Vice President Operation of Human Initiative, said that the collaboration with PDHI is an effort to maintain the quality of livestock, especially at Qurban this year.
“It is hoped it can minimize the FMD outbreak which is currently infecting many livestock in Indonesia, therefore we are very enthusiastic in carrying out this collaboration. So that we can both maintain and break the chain of PMK spread in Indonesia,” said Andjar.
Chairman of PDHI, Dr. drh Muhammad Munawaroh, M.M expressed his support for this collaboration. He considered that one of the functions of PDHI is to determine the health of animals, including sacrificial animals. Thus, it is the right step for Human Initiative to cooperate with PDHI in ensuring the health of the sacrificial animals.
“PDHI in this case really supports this collaboration. This is also our step to help ensure that the animal meets the quality for qurban even to the point that it is fit for consumption,” he continued.
This collaboration will be implemented through PDHI ainspections to the Human Initiative cages to check animals before they are sacrificed until they are slaughtered. This is to ensure the animal is safe from when it is in the cage until it becomes meat for consumption.
