Human Initiative to Empower Villages in Bogor through Food Security Program

Bogor Regency – Saturday (23/07) “Human Initiative is present among the community through Food Security programs in several regions in Indonesia. The program aims to provide economic impact to the residents. One of them is by maximizing the use of natural resources in an area. In this program, Sasak Panjang Village, Tajurhalang District, Bogor Regency is an area to receive assistance from Human Initiative.

Cultivating vegetables and freshwater fish is relatively new for the residents of Sasak Panjang Village, because in this area there are no residents or locations that focus on cultivating vegetables and freshwater fish.

Through this program, beneficiaries are also facilitated to be able to form and manage Farmer Groups known as Gizi Permai Farm. Initially, Permai Farm Nutrition Farmers Group became a group that managed the infrastructure of the Human Initiative. However, with intense assistance, this group was able to develop a food security program at the RT level.

️One of the regular activities is the “panen Raya” activity on July 23, 2022. The name of this activity comes from the feeling of optimism for a large harvest during the program. This harvest activity takes place when the harvest time of vegetable crops, which is about 35-45 days. However, there are also gardeners who have harvested pakcoy when they are 20-25 days old, especially for harvesting “Baby Pakcoy”.

The harvest is immediately neatly packaged and labeled like a bouquet of flowers. The vegetable production has entered several market outside RW 12, such as Tangerang, Depok, Sentul, and Jakarta.
