Situation Report #2, HI Continues to Help Affected People

Cianjur – Monday 21 November 2022 at 13.21.10 local time there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale with a depth of 10 Km located at 6.84 South Latitude and 107.05 East Longitude. A total of 5,389 people were displaced, 79 people were injured, 25 people were buried under collapsed buildings in Cijedil Village, Cugenang District (in the process of evacuation) and 62 people died in Cilaku District, Desa. Rancagoong, Cianjur District. One person was moderately injured in Bandung Regency and 8 people were slightly injured in Sukabumi Regency.
The Human Initiative team has gone to several points and has assisted the affected residents. A number of logistical and psychosocial distributions as well as procurement of power stations have taken place. The team of volunteers is still monitoring to assess the impact and carry out an assessment to follow up on the aid response.
