Strengthening Indonesian Public Support, Human Initiative Sends Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

21 October 2023

Gaza, Palestine – Human Initiative, with the support of the Indonesian community, has sent humanitarian aid in the form of basic food packages to 333 survivor families in Gaza, Palestine (16/10). This distribution is a collective effort to reinforce Indonesian community support for survivors in Palestine.

Since the escalation of the Palestine-Israel conflict on October 7, 2023, Palestinian civilians have been living in dire conditions. The blockade imposed by Israel has made it increasingly challenging for Palestinians to access basic necessities. Nevertheless, this hasn’t dampened the spirit of the Indonesian community in assisting the survivors.

In the first phase of humanitarian aid distribution, Human Initiative collaborated with local partners. This support was provided to 333 survivor families who are displaced around the Alamal School in Khan Yunis, South Gaza.

“We extend our gratitude to Human Initiative as the intermediary donor from Indonesia who has delivered this assistance. We hope that there will be further aid for our brothers and sisters in Gaza to alleviate their suffering,” expressed a representative from a local partner in Palestine.

The distribution of humanitarian aid from the Indonesian community’s concern for survivors in Palestine will proceed gradually. Considering the UNRWA’s “Situation Report #9 on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank” (20/10) estimates that the internally displaced persons throughout Gaza number around one million and are scattered across many locations.
