A Box of Nutritional Packages for Young Quran Memorizers

Padang, West Sumatra – Through the kindness of donors, Human Initiative has provided a box of nutritional packages to 12 young hafidz and hafidzah (those who memorize the Quran) in Padang, West Sumatra (July 23). The distribution of boxes filled with fruits and nutritious supplements also commemorates National Children’s Day on July 23.

Human Initiative West Sumatra initiated the ‘Quran Memorizer Nutritional Package’ program for young Quran memorizers in various areas of West Sumatra. The goal is to motivate these children to continue memorizing the Quran.

“These children are also beneficiaries of the Tahfidz Scholarship program funded by Human Initiative donors every month. Hopefully, these packages can support their nutrition, making them more enthusiastic and motivated to memorize the Quran,” said Defri, Head of Human Initiative West Sumatra Branch.

Joy from a Box of Nutritional Packages

The kindness shown by donors has made the young Quran memorizers under the care of the Al-Uswah Foundation’s Tahfidz House in Padang familiar with Human Initiative. This was evident when Human Initiative volunteers visited their Pondok (boarding house), and the children enthusiastically welcomed them. The moment arrived when a box filled with nutritious products made the children even more excited.

One of these children is Maryam, a beneficiary who has already memorized 27 juz (sections) of the Quran. She joyfully welcomed the Human Initiative volunteers, especially when she learned that the contents of the package were her favorites. In a brief conversation with the volunteers, Maryam shared her aspirations of becoming a doctor and a hafidzah. When asked why she memorizes the Quran, she responded that she wants to enter paradise, travel the world, and convey her message through her memorization.

Hanifa’s enthusiasm was also evident. This spirited hafidzah hurriedly brought the Nutritional Package to a mother selling children’s toys using a pedicab passing by her Tahfidz house. It turned out that the mother was Hanifa’s own mother. Remarkably, despite limited economic conditions, Hanifa’s determination and will to memorize the Quran remained strong.
