A Mosque Facing Clean Water Difficulties for Years

A Mosque Facing Clean Water Difficulties for Years

9 April 2023

Dear Initiators, do you believe that goodness will always find its way to those who need it most? This is what the Human Initiative and Wakaf Salman discovered in a mosque environment that had been facing clean water difficulties for years. The Uswatun Hasanah Mosque in Babakan Village, Babakan Ciparay District, Bandung City, West Java, was struggling to access clean water despite being located in a densely populated area.

Local RW head, Agus Kurnia, explained that drilling had been attempted in other places, but these efforts failed at several points, leaving residents without access to clean water. Consequently, residents were forced to buy clean water for IDR 12,000 per day to meet their daily needs.

Despite being in the center of Bandung City, the mosque and its surrounding community had been struggling with the lack of clean water for years. However, with the help of the Human Initiative and Wakaf Salman, the Uswatun Hasanah Mosque was finally able to install a clean water source, bringing much-needed relief to the community.

Uthman bin Affan was the Role Model for the Kindness in Pasundan Land

On February 28, 2023, the Uswatun Hasanah Mosque in Babakan Village, Babakan Ciparay District, Bandung City, West Java, officially received a clean water source after years of difficulties. The Human Initiative and Wakaf Salman collaborated on a clean water system program that has benefited 100 families in the area. The program used a community empowerment approach and included drilling a 100-meter-deep well, constructing water storage tanks and electrical panels, and implementing piping systems in residents’ homes.

During the speech, Ustadz Nasrullah, the Head of DKM Uswatun Hasanah Mosque, expressed gratitude and thanks for the collaboration, hoping that it would not be the last and that there would be future collaborations.

The inspiration for this collaboration came from Uthman bin Affan, a companion of Rasulullah ﷺ, who provided clean water solutions for people experiencing severe drought by donating a well. Ryan Faisal, Program Manager of Wakaf Salman, advised that the people of the Uswatun Hasanah Mosque area maintain the clean water facility properly so that it can be used for the long term and the results can be donated for other needs.

It was full of Gratitude and Happiness

The implementation of this program is a result of the support of various parties, as well as the enthusiasm of the community, who gave endless thanks, a warm welcome, and expressed their joy from the heart.

Fatih Abdul Aziez, Head of the West Java branch of the Human Initiative, emphasized that the most important aspect of the inauguration was not the ceremony, but the gratitude for the blessings from Allah ﷻ. He also stated that the program collaboration between Wakaf Salman and the Human Initiative was made possible with the permission of Allah ﷻ and the prayers of the community.

“I hope that this program can be utilized as well as possible for household needs and worship. Hopefully, there will always be good values that can be taken from this program,” concluded Fatih in his remarks to the public.

Dear Initiators, let us believe that goodness will find its anchorage. Let us move, expand, and bring out the best springs in all corners of Indonesia. Choose your goodness with the Human Initiative through Solusipeduli.org. I hope this kindness will be of unlimited benefit to all.
