Community-Based Disaster Resilience Village Workshop at Pasanggrahan Village, Subang Regency

Subang – Tuesday (30/8) West Java Human Initiative in collaboration with PT Tirta Investama (AQUA) Plant Subang through the Community-Based Disaster Resilience Village Workshop program. The activity took place at Pasanggrahan Village Sports Stadium, Pasanggrahan Village, Kasomalang Sub District, Subang Regency.

This event involved around 80 participants from company representatives of PT Tirta Investama (AQUA) Plant Subang, Subang Regency BPBD, Pasanggrahan Village Government, Kasomalang District, UPTD Kasomalang Rapid Response Unit, other village institutions and the community of Pasanggrahan Village. Students from Pasanggrahan 1 State Elementary School also participate in this program.

Juheri, the Head of Pasanggrahan Village, expressed his support and hope for this activity.

“Village communities must be prepared to deal with disasters. We hope that this workshop can provide benefits,” said Juheri, the Head of Pasanggrahan Village.

Rahmat, sub-district head in Kasomalang sub-district also conveyed the message in the activity. According to him, although Kasomalang sub-district is not a disaster area, this preparedness training needs to be in place. So that the residents can always be ready to face disasters anytime anywhere.

Zaenal representing the company also hopes that this activity can be a series of collaboration with the community as well as a lesson in dealing with disasters. This workshop is also a symbolic collaboration between CSR PT. AQUA Plant Subang with the village of Pasanggrahan and human initiative assistance in the disaster-resilient village program.

 

Disaster Resilient Village Workshop

 

The Subang Regency BPBD team provided materials to the training participants. The contents of the training were material presentation and socialization of Disaster Resilient Villages such as disaster management and rescue techniques. There is also a disaster simulation with an earthquake disaster scenario involving the participants present.

 

Through this workshop, public understanding and knowledge about disaster risk mitigation is increased. This includes identifying the scope of potential disasters and the impact of damage and losses that are expected to arise. After that the understanding of preparation in the steps of prevention, mitigation, and disaster preparedness. So that it is not only focused on disaster emergency response but also on the pre-disaster stage.
