Children usually live surrounded by love and attention from their parents. At least until they are 17 years old when they have grown up physically and mentally. This certainly affects the personality and development of the children.

Dania, Thousands of Kilometers Apart from Her Mother

When children of her age are enjoying childhood with their parents, Dania, an 8 year old girl, must be separated by thousands of kilometers from her parents. “I like to cry when I remember my Mom,” said the pink hooded girl in a low voice. Currently, Dania, who is still in the second grade of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Maarif Kanigoro, lives in Pondok Rawdhah Al-Talibin 2 with her friends in the Magelang area. Meanwhile, her mother, Yani, who is currently working, lives in Bangka Belitung Islands. She will come home once a year to meet Dania when Lebaran comes.

Even so, several times her mother took the time to call Dania. “Don’t be naughty, don’t tease your friends,” those were her Mother’s messages that Dania remembered the most.

Even though she is still young, Dania is not a spoilt girl. She likes to eat vegetables, likes being in the kitchen and also diligently follows the dorm’s daily schedule such as cleaning the dorms. Now Dania is comfortable living in the boarding, there are many of her caretakers who like to chat, including Mba Zuni and Mba Heni who are administrators of the Islamic boarding school. Her friends are also good, She is comfortable and feels at home at the boarding/dormitory. Dania explained as she shared her experiences and feelings living here.

Dania said that she liked the theme lesson, for her the theme lesson was an easy lesson. To the Human Initiative team, Dania explained that now she dreams of becoming a teacher. Hopefully, through the gifts from the Initiator Friends containing school supplies, Dania will be more enthusiastic and confident to pursue her goals, whatever challenges or obstacles Dania will encounter in the future.
