Developing Micro Enterprises, Women in Bekasi Participate in MUI Halal Certification Training

Bekasi – Tuesday (19/7), the Healthy Mother’s Home Program held training and assistance in obtaining Halal certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for women of micro-enterprises in the commodity of marinated fish. The training took place in Pekayon Jaya Village, South Bekasi District, Bekasi City. Rumah Bunda Sehat is a family empowerment program initiated by Human Initiative supported by donors.

This training activity aims to provide information about obtaining halal certification. Considering the existence of an output of family welfare and independence which is the goal of the Rumah Bunda Sehat program. Moreover, at this time halal certification for a product can foster a sense of security and comfort for potential buyers.

There were 26 participants at this event. This training event is also the result of collaboration with the local community administration (Kelurahan). The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the activities and were active in giving responses by asking questions and sahring experiences regarding halal certification materials.

Nur Alawiyah, a specialist in food service quality assurance, is a speaker at this training. She discussed 3 important topics, namely food service sanitation hygiene, halal certification procedures and writing and making good and correct labels.

She also explained that in this digital age, the process of managing the MUI halal label has been easier. This includes small, medium and large businesses. Therefore, it is necessary to have an active role and contribution from the community to continue to improve knowledge and details of quality assurance for their business.

Fatimah, one of the beneficiaries, was grateful for this training.
