The North Sumatra Human Initiative Holds Great Harvest of Family Food Security Program

Deli Serdang: Human Initiative North Sumatraimplements the Family Food Security, Rice Harvest program. The activity was carried out in Damai Bok Serong Hamlet, Beringin Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, Tuesday (1/9).

This family food security program involves village officials, among others, Aldiriansyah who is the Head of the Beringin Village and Sukardi.

The rice harvested is the yields of farming from orphans and poor students of Pondok Tahfidz Abdullah wa Sabaniyah students. This is a Smart Acceleration Scholarship program by the North Sumatra Human Initiative.

This 6 rante (or 2,400 meter) rice field was planted last April. It coincides with the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Later, the harvested rice will be used as staple food for 100 santri and administrators of the tahfidz lodge.

“The food security activity which was held for the first time was very useful for the welfare of the santri and the board of the Tahfidz Abdullah wa Sabandiyah Islamic Boarding School which was assisted by the North Sumatra Human Initiative. Hopefully this program can continue and be continued because it is very supportive of government programs, “said Aldiriansyah.
