Nasywa’s Story: Growing Up with HOME Learning Center

Nasywa’s Story: Growing Up with HOME Learning Center

9 July 2023

Depok, West Java – HOME Learning Center, a flagship program of Human Initiative, has left a profound impact on the hearts of children. One of those children is Nasywa Ayu Lestari (17), who has grown up participating in various play and learning activities at the HOME Learning Center.

Nasywa, affectionately known by that name, shared her journey of studying and playing at the HOME Learning Center. Since she was in the first grade of Middle School, Nasywa has experienced the joy of learning at the HOME Learning Center.

“While at HOME, you can meet many new people. At HOME, we also learn to pray on time,” Nasywa said.

Being Happy with HOME

Nasywa, now in the 3rd grade of high school, expresses her great happiness in being part of the program created by Human Initiative while attending school. She fondly remembers bringing her school assignments to seek help from the HOME volunteers.

“When facing difficult school assignments, I would bring them to HOME to seek guidance from the volunteers who teach,” Nasywa recalled.

As the second child among three siblings, Nasywa has formed a close bond with HOME. Her father, who worked as a teacher, also took care of the cleanliness of the HOME Learning Center, which was located in Condet, East Jakarta at that time.

Unfortunately, the HOME Learning Center in Condet is currently temporarily closed. As a result, Nasywa’s father now teaches at an early childhood education institution to fill the void left by Nasywa’s grandma, who previously taught at the center.

Now, Nasywa has completed her studies and aspires to pursue higher education at a state university. Let us pray for Nasywa’s success in achieving her dreams. And together, let’s continue spreading kindness through the Human Initiative via Solusipeduli.org.
