Rangga, Elementary Student Who Never Gives Up

Rangga, Elementary Student Who Never Gives Up

2 November 2021

Rangga, a 7-year-old elementary school student, has had to feel the bitterness of life at such a young age. His mother had even passed away when Rangga was only 3 months old. His father is still alive but has remarried and started a new family. So, he now lives with his Grandmother and Grandpa.

Actually, until now, Rangga thought that his grandmother was his biological mother. Because in terms of stature, if you meet in person or see the photos, Grandma Rangga doesn’t look like a grandmother in general. It can be said, Rangga’s grandmother is relatively young for her age. One of the factors may be because Rangga’s grandmother is very active, so she doesn’t look old.

Until now, he had never even known what his biological mother looked like. There were no photographs or documentation that could help him imagine what his late mother would have been like when she was alive.

Rangga’s Daily Life

Every day, Rangga is taken to school by his Grandfather or Grandmother in turn. The grandmother, early in the morning was busy picking grass in the fields. Meanwhile, his grandfather worked in a limestone factory and usually came home at dusk. Sometimes, he lives alone at home. Play alone or with friends. Rangga, who likes blue color, really likes playing football or cycling. When he starts to get hungry, he will eat the food served while waiting for his grandparents to come home.

Rangga, Pelajar SD yang Tidak Pantang Menyerah (dengan sang Nenek)

Although this elementary school student has already been 7 years old, he admits that he cannot read yet. He is still trying to catch up on this at school. Rangga’s house is very special, it does not have a floor but only soil and the walls are made of wood. To make Rangga even more enthusiastic about going to school, Human Initiative team provided school supplies for him.

Because Rangga really likes Iron Man, he chose a bag with a picture of Iron Man. Thank you, Initiator Friends. Your help means a lot to Rangga.
