Rara, A Cheerful Girl Who Memorizes The Qur’an

Introducing a cheerful little girl from the City of a Million Flowers, Magelang. Her name is Rara, this girl who was born on January 14, 2012 aspires to become an ustadzah at a young age. She is currently still in the 4th grade of elementary school. When her friends came home from school and went to play at 11.30 Rara gave her 2 and a half hours to memorize the holy verses of the Qur’an. Then going home at 14.00 o’clock.

Pak Muhromin, who is her religion teacher, is the person who has helped Rara memorize all this time. To the Human Initiative team, she expressed her love for memorizing the Qur’an because for her through memorizing the Qur’an she can increase her knowledge. Currently, she is able to memorize Surah At-Takwir with 29 verses in juz 30.

Rara’s love for memorizing the verses of Allah has started since she was 6.5 years old. Even since sitting in kindergarten, every night she has started learning to read and write the Qur’an through the Iqra method.

In addition to memorizing in front of Pak Muhromin, the teacher at her school, Rara also regularly goes to the TPA every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday in the afternoon. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays she will make her memorization to Pak Muthafiin, his Koran teacher. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Mr. Muthafiin will teach tajwid to his students.

Not finished with the Koran in the afternoon, after the Maghrib Prayer Kirania will return to the TPA to continue the study until 19.00 WIB.

Apart from being good at the Koran, he is also passionate about learning other sciences. She said that the subjects of Theme, Mathematics, English, and Religion were her favorite subjects. But among all that she likes to study Mathematics the most.

Rara’s Little Family

Rara’s father is a vegetable seller. He used to peddle various kinds of vegetables by car. The vegetables are taken from the morning market and then he sells it again. At half past five in the morning, Rara’s father is ready with his merchandise and started to tour the village, his work would only be finished around 16.00 WIB. While Rara’s mother is not working, she takes care of household needs and takes care of her little sister, Kirania.

Her father and mother also support their daughter to continue memorizing the Qur’an, this can be seen from the birthday gift they have given when Rara was still in the 2nd grade of Elementary School. Her Mother and father gave Qur’an so that Rara would be more diligent in reading the Koran and increasing her knowledge.

Not only is she diligent in memorizing and studying, she also often helps her mother with housework, from cooking, washing dishes and dirty glasses to sweeping, mopping, and cleaning the corners of the house.
