The Implementation of ‘Ramadhan for All’, the Human Initiative spread Kindness to Remote Areas of Bogor

31 March 2023

The Human Initiative recently launched its thematic program called “Ramadhan for All”. The program aims to help people in need during the holy month of Ramadhan, and it includes various activities to spread kindness and goodness. One of the program’s activities is the Gift Sharing and Eid Allowance Sharing programs, which were implemented in remote areas of Bogor, West Java on March 25. The two locations chosen were Cigewor Village and Dharma Ibu Elementary School in West Cilendek.

The organization distributed food packages to 50 beneficiaries in Cigewor Village as part of the Gift Sharing program. Meanwhile, the Eid-Allowance Sharing program was implemented in Dharma Ibu Elementary School, in which 50 children were chosen to receive the allowance.

“In the Gift Sharing program, we distributed 50 packages of food and groceries to the beneficiaries in Cigewor village. Meanwhile, we chose 50 children from Dharma Ibu Elementary School in West Cilendek to receive the Eid Allowance,” said Mukhoer Abdus Syukur, the head of the Human Initiative Ramadhan Squad.

Despite the different locations, both areas have unique characteristics. Cigewor Village is a rural area located more than 36 km away from Bogor city’s center. The village is surrounded by rice fields and Mount Munara, which adds to its charm. On the other hand, Dharma Ibu Elementary School is located near the city center, and it has a more urban atmosphere.

The First Kindness in Ramadhan This Year

The Human Initiative wasted no time in extending a helping hand during Ramadan this year. By the third day of the holy month, they had already reached out to beneficiaries in Cigewor Village through their Gift Sharing program and they were welcomed with enthusiasm.

Imron Rosyadi, the owner of the Ashabul Kahfi Madani Foundation in Cigewor Village, shared his gratitude for the program. “Most of the people here are from the lower middle class. They had been eagerly awaiting the activities and were very appreciative of the Human Initiative’s kindness,” he said.

Interestingly, the 50 beneficiaries in Cigewor Village were all mothers. Imron explained that their husbands spend their days working in rice farms, gardens, and quarrying rocks in the Mount Munara area.

Just like in Cigewor Village, the Initiators through the Human Initiative program were the first to extend kindness to SD Dharma Ibu during Ramadan 1444 H. The school’s principal, Nursyidah Ariawati, expressed her hope that this would bring blessings to the children and open up new opportunities for them.

Empowerment is a Hope for the Next Kindness

There was a noble purpose when the volunteers of the Human Initiative asked Imron Rosyadi about his hope after receiving the benefits from the program. He said that the empowerment program in his environment will bring long-term kindness to the people.

“I hope there will be more assistance for the next Ramadhan. We are also open for other kinds of empowerment programs such as aquaculture, agriculture, and goat farming that can help us in the long run,” Imron said.

Similarly, the Principal of Dharma Ibu Elementary School hopes that this kindness program can continue to support the education of her students. She believes that this act of kindness can motivate the children to become like the volunteers from Human Initiative.

“I hope that in the future, there will be a special program for education, especially to support the school operations and the welfare of our teachers,” the Principal said.
