Ima’s Spirit of Learning for His Dream of Becoming a Teacher

Ima is the 2nd child in her family. She has been abandoned by her father since 2016. Now Ima only lives with her mother. Every day Ima takes the initiative to help her mother by selling fried food around from 8-12 in the morning. She walked approximately 2-3 KM until all the goods she sells sold out. Previously, her mother had been sick, so finally Ima could only help her parents by helping neighbors and then she received some money which she used to send her mother to the doctor.

“Ima’s sister graduated from high school this year, I don’t know if Ima will also be able to continue her studies. I have been sick and my sales could only be used to eat, and that wasn’t enough. If I get sick, Ima and her sister always wait for someone to tell them to get money to buy food,” said the mother.

Her mother sells fried food every day from 8-12 in the morning, then continues in the afternoon at 3-6 in the evening. She does it all just to meet the needs of food, school fee and house rent at a price of 7 million Rupiah per year.

Ima aspires to become a teacher. Because for her the teacher is a hero. Ima is currently in dire need of help for her school, especially when schooling is online, Ima is unable to attend lessons because her old cell phone battery is broken. Even in such a condition, Ima is still eager to learn to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher.
