Mr Mulki’s Sincerity in Educating His Students

Pak Mulki is a teacher at SDIT Al-Uswah, in Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta. He has served as a teacher for 12 years. When the school was firstly established, he had even joined as a Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Teacher. Thus, Mr. Mulki was one of the witnesses in the early days of SDIT Al-Uswah’s struggle.

At that time, he was very touched by the cooperation between the school, parents, and students. Because at that time, SDIT Al-Uswah did not have adequate facilities for teaching and learning activities. However, thanks to the full support of parents and students, SDIT Al-Uswah was able to develop into what it is today.

There are a lot of sweet memories that are fun and of course very valuable for teachers, not least for him. Pak Mulki added that being a teacher was a calling for him. Especially when he observes that today’s children do not have big interest in religious knowledge.

“I do have the basics because I have studied as a student. Therefore, I am very happy to see children who are enthusiastic to learn and explore the Qur’an. Joining a Tahfiz teacher in the SDIT Al-Uswah family is one of the things I am very grateful for until this moment,” said Pak Mulki.

Regarding the teaching style, Mr. Mulki has his own tricks so that the students don’t feel bored. Sometimes, he creates educational games using supportive learning media. Occasionally, he also directs teaching and learning activities outside the classroom while enjoying the natural atmosphere.

Mr. Mulki conveyed his personal wishes for teachers in Indonesia. “My personal hope to my friends and professional colleagues is try to teach understanding. How to teach is not only aborting obligations, but also for self-awareness to educate and direct children to become better, responsible, of course also pious,” said Pak Mulki.
